Mexico's rich history is dotted with the rise and fall of miraculous civilizations, none quite so dramatic or awe-inspiring as the Mayan. In Cancún's anthropology museum, visitors can peruse jewelry, masks, and other artifacts that made up these ancient peoples' daily lives. Other exhibits include a 6th century staircase featuring Classic-period hieroglyphics and artifacts from the Spanish colonialism in the region.
